Sharpening Your EQ EdgeIntra- and Interpersonal Competencies for ManagersHaving a high IQ alone may not necessarily equate high rate of success. Other “intelligent” factors such as self awareness, impulse control, persistence, self- motivation, being able to build and sustain inspiring work environments as well as engage others through empathy and positive relationships are qualities which set apart leaders who excel. These basic qualities are now commonly known as “Emotional Intelligence”, an array of non-cognitive capabilities, competencies and skills that influence one’s ability to succeed in coping with environmental demands and pressures. Research shows that an executive’s emotional intelligence has clear links not only to their own performance but also impacts everyone else around them. Since the initial research in the area of Emotional Intelligence, innovative organization have started to integrate EQ into training and hiring to gain competitive advantage. It is becoming increasingly clear that these skills are the foundation of high-performing organizations. Workshop Objectives:This program creates awareness of the significance of Emotional Intelligence at the workplace and in management. The participants will be equipped with skills and tools to develop 15 key EQ competencies and learn how these can make a difference to individual and team performance as well as job satisfaction. The participants will be given a report of their current level of Emotional Intelligence (the assessment can be done online prior to the workshop) and receive a 20-minute debrief coaching session to help them understand their current level of EQ as well as how to use strengths and develop areas of improvement. Workshop MethodologyThis program is conducted with hands-on experiential learning in developing intra- and interpersonal skills. The sessions are highly interactive and fun, yet effective. Participants will not only gain theoretical knowledge but practical skills they can apply right away and see immediate results. Lectures are kept to a minimum and are interactive, encouraging active participation of the participants. The program includes workshop sessions as well as an individual debrief of the EQ-assessment. Workshop MaterialsThe participants will receive extensive handouts covering the content and tools shared in the program, including of articles, reference materials and exercises for self-awareness/-analysis. The EQ-i business report includes a detailed analysis of the individual’s EQ as well as tips and recommendation how to apply or further develop their EQ in the 15 scales. |
