INTRODUCTION

Kid’s Skills is a Solution Focused approach of removing problems by advocating learning of skills in a playful and practical way. Kid’s Skills is a Step-by-Step process of assisting kids and youth to become more self-motivated and responsible of the skills they should learn. This can be applied in the children and youth ranging from ages 4 to 12 and can be used in kindergartens, schools, homes, special schools and institutions.

Kid’s Skills has been successfully used places like Finland, Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Iran and many other parts of Europe.

COURSE CONTENTS

Solutions Creation vs. Problem Solving
- Understand the benefits of applying concepts and learn the attitudes and tools of Solution Focus to facilitate positive changes by highlighting strengths and encouraging in a subtle and sincere way.

Kid’s Skills 15 Step Approach
- Learn the simple to use and easy to apply 15 steps to use implement and apply Kid’s Skills in a fun and effective way to combat problems.

Building Enthusiasm and Motivation
- Build interest and enthusiasm in children, youths and students more effectively while sustaining motivation from within and to fire up commitment to facilitate personal growth and improvement

Using Strengths to Upgrade Skills
- Use the strength based approach, past successes and positive environment from supporters to engage children, youths and students to learn more.

Conclusion
- Summarising key learning points of the workshop and to help create an action plan for immediate implementation back at home, school or institution.

 
   
 

COURSE DESIGN

The Kid’s Skills workshop is a modular learning system that includes two days of interactive and active learning with a variety of activities to facilitate learning. This workshop focuses on building solution-focused skills and competencies.

The workshop is highly interactive and utilises a variety of methods and tools to maximise learning. For example, individual and small-group exercises with discussions on practical issues will actively engage participants to create solutions in their own challenges.

Participants can expect to leave the program not only aware of the possibilities of the solution-focused approach to dealing with problems but also with a set of transferable skills to enhance the effectiveness of the environment they seek to implement the tools in. It is also expected that participants will be have an action plan to able to use and implement Kid’s Skills immediately.
