The BRIEF ACADEMY was founded with the passion and desire to make the Solution Focused Approach and Appreciative Inquiry work for each of our client and to spread the effective use of the Solution Focused and Appreciative approaches in the Asia Pacific Region.

Solution Focused Approach is a future-oriented, goal-directed approach to brief therapy developed initially by Insoo Kim Berg, Steve de Shazer and their colleagues and clients at the Milwaukee Brief Family Therapy Centre in the early 1980s. It is a highly disciplined, pragmatic approach that has become successfully used in other divergent fields such as education, social policy and business.

Appreciative Inquiry is a large scale change management process introduced by David Cooperrider and his associates at the Case Western Reserve University in the mid-eighties. This new model of change management is uniquely suited to the values, beliefs, and business challenges facing managers and leaders today. It enables you to engage and inspire your highly diverse and dispersed workforce; to involve customers and other stakeholders in the future of your business; to discover and extend your business strengths and strategic advantages; and to balance outstanding financial returns with heightened societal contributions.
